At stressful times, such as the run up to exams and assessments, it's important to also take time to look after your wellbeing. This doesn鈥檛 need to be costly; our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team has put together some ideas below for inspiration.
1. Get outdoors
Whether it鈥檚 intense exercise or a relaxing walk, getting outside and being active releases feel good endorphins, and on a nice sunny day you can top up on your vitamin D too.
2. Take a bath
Sit back in the bath or take a long shower, and enjoy the opportunity to be disconnected from the world for a short while.
3. Put on your favourite music or a podcast
Having a dance to music can be a great way to release tensions and endorphins.
4. Have a social media detox day
Put your phone in a drawer for a day and distract yourself with other things.
5. Meditate
BCU students can access Headspace for free, which has some great meditations and short courses. .
6. Cook or bake
Try your favourite recipe or whisk up something new in the kitchen. All the better when you can share it around too!
7. Play games
Whether board games or online, games are a great way to switch off from the world.
8. Call someone
Whether someone close or someone you haven鈥檛 spoken to in a while, take a moment to connect with others.
9. Try a hobby or something new
Take time to do something you enjoy, or try a new skill. Not sure where to start?聽 has a bunch of societies to choose from!
10. Watch a comfort film
Head to the cinema, or grab some snacks and get cosy on the sofa!
