We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming听Cultural exchange event, It will be a warm, informal celebration of creativity, identity, and belonging.

Join the That's Me! project team for a celebration of culture through:

  • Food (sharing traditional dishes or stories around food)
  • Skills sharing (sewing, calligraphy, henna, crafts)
  • Open mic (poetry, storytelling, short musical acts)

The aim is to build connections through culture, joy, and creativity in a warm, informal setting. Whether it鈥檚 a home-cooked meal, a sewing technique, or a poem in a mother tongue, the event offers space for PGRs to bring their full selves, beyond the academic persona, and find common ground through cultural pride and lived experience.

The purpose is to reduce isolation and create a welcoming environment where belonging is felt, not just spoken about.

This opportunity is open to Global Majority PGRs from 探花直播 and the University of Wolverhampton.

We鈥檙e currently looking for passionate PGRs who would like to:

Facilitate a Short Activity

This can be anything rooted in your heritage or something you simply love to share. A few ideas include

  • Henna art
  • Calligraphy
  • Sewing or crafts
  • Storytelling or poetry
  • Dance or music

Bring a Cultural Dish to Share

We also invite you to bring a small portion of a traditional dish from your culture.

Including a short story, memory, or meaning behind the dish would make it even more special. These shared food stories help us connect across our experiences and backgrounds.

To support your contribution, we鈥檙e offering a small voucher to help with costs for both activity facilitators and food sharers.

Please let us know if you're interested by Saturday, 15 July 2025.
