Daniel Blanco Albert

Daniel Blanco Albert is a PhD student based in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media.

Daniel Blanco is Infinite Opera鈥檚 co-artistic director, composer and conductor. He has composed the physics dissemination opera 鈥淓ntanglement! An Entropic Tale鈥 and the operatic beer trilogy, 鈥淏esse鈥.

He is currently composing "The Flowering Desert", an opera about astrophysics in collaboration with the team that discovered the TRAPPIST-1 exo-planetary system.

As part of Infinite Opera, Daniel collaborates with University of 探花直播's PHYART@UoB project. He has also worked for theatrical productions and artistic installations across Europe, collaborating with directors such as Aleksandar Dundjerovic, Stephen Simms or Lise Olson. He also collaborates as a composer, workshop leader and conductor with the Welsh National Opera鈥檚 engagement programme in the Midlands.

Daniel also collaborates as orchestrator and arranger with professional ensembles and soloists in Spain such as Joan Enric Lluna, Moonwinds Ensemble or Cristina Montes; being often employed by the Godella Chamber Music Festival on the recovery of Valencia music patrimony.

Daniel studied Composition in Spain and in the UK, getting the Extraordinary Prize at Valencia Conservatoire and a BMus (First) and Masters (Distinction) at the Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire (funded with a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship).

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Performing Arts at 探花直播 as part of the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Programme.
