Staff, students and alumni will join forces at the summer festival Garsington Opera for Mozart鈥檚 鈥楲e Nozze di Figaro鈥.
Head of Vocal and Operatic Studies Paul Wingfield will conduct the Philharmonia Orchestra on Wednesday 17 July at Garsington Opera, Wormsley Estate, in Buckinghamshire.
Paul will conduct Mozart鈥檚 鈥楲e Nozze di Figaro鈥 for the company in an OperaFirst performance, which allows young people the chance to experience a full-scale production at the famous summer festival.
The main cast includes alumni Claire Lees as Susanna and Frazer Scott as Antonio, as well as current student Justin Jacobs (chorus) who won a place on the Alvarez Young Artists鈥 Programme. The scheme aims to discover and nurture the next generation of professional opera singers.
The festival runs until Wednesday 31 July and the season features Britten鈥檚 A Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream, Verdi鈥檚 un Giorno di Regno and a community opera by Andrew Norman titled, A Trip to the Moon. Alumna Holly Teague has received fantastic reviews for her role in Rameau's opera 'Plat茅e'.
