Big Mood is back

University News Last updated 30 October

Filming for season two of Big Mood is underway. The first series of the hit comedy, which starred Acting alumna Nicola Coughlan, was Channel 4鈥檚 most watched new comedy since Derry Girls, also starring Nicola.

BAFTA nominee Lydia West stars alongside Nicola in the comedy, written by Acting alumna Camilla Whitehill, with fellow alumna Amalia Vitale also appearing.

The first season of Big Mood was praised for being laugh-out-loud funny while simultaneously tackling heavy topics including mental illness, as Nicola鈥檚 character, Maggie tries to navigate friendships and work while also dealing with her bipolar disorder.

Nicola told Channel 4 she is 鈥淒eeply grateful to everyone who loves our mad, funny, sad show. It鈥檚 been one of the greatest joys of my life making it, and I鈥檓 beyond delighted that we get to come back and tell the next chapter of Maggie and Eddie鈥檚 story.鈥

Camilla Whitehall has also shared that she is 鈥渙verjoyed to be bringing Big Mood back for another round!鈥
