Digital Marketing student Aneesah secured a six-week placement with 探花直播-based agency Tribera, where she gained hands-on experience across social media, digital marketing, PR, and creative campaigns, and shares her experience of working on live projects in an agency environment. The Tribera Academy is an ongoing partnership between BA (Hons) Digital Marketing, MA Future Media, and聽.
How did you secure your internship?
I started by networking with the co-founder of the creative agency Tribera, Dr茅 Picart, at our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Forward 2026 conference. I knew I had to take it upon myself to find something before I graduated because of the nature of the job market right now. I did some聽light stalking research聽on their website after I鈥檇 set up a meeting with the co-founder聽where I happened to stumble upon聽Tribera Academy. After an interview with Dr茅, the co-founder,聽聽I managed to secure a聽six聽-week聽internship that taught me so much.
Why did you choose to do an internship?
I knew it could only benefit me and Tribera Academy promised to cover all bases ranging from social media marketing to digital marketing to public relations and more.聽From being unsure of which aspect of marketing I wanted to delve into, I knew聽an internship at an agency would be a solid way for me to narrow my options down. During my internship, we also had opportunities to have mentor meetings with anyone from any team at the agency once a week which was聽super helpful.

Tell us about a typical day on internship at Tribera Academy.
My day typically began with sessions inside the main meeting room where we鈥檇 be taught by a variety of people. As an example, in the social media week, we had聽two-to-three-hour聽sessions聽in the morning and afternoon led by the Social Media Lead and Social Media Manager, with the sessions broken up with tasks and short breaks.
Every Thursday, we had the chance to fill out a survey to talk about the week we鈥檇 had and give any relevant feedback so it could be applied to the following weeks. We also had the chance to work on our creative portfolios, complete online certifications, and set up mentor meetings.
What skills have you learnt from your internship?
I聽learnt聽a variety of skills and tips that Iwill carry on to my work, including a general knowledge base of so many departments within an agency鈥檚 landscape such as creative, social, digital, PR, and client services.
I was most in my element during the creative and social media weeks where we, in our groups, had the chance to go out and capture footage for organic social media content creation. To have had such hands-on and practical experience was so important because聽we made creative decisions on the spot.
Some notable takeaways from my internship;
- Collaboration with our assigned groups and with the agency
- Being assigned a live client brief and actively working on it for the duration of the Academy
- Creating assets and garnering feedback immediately
- Having the opportunity to pitch ourselves to the founders in the final week
What is your favourite memory from your internship?
There was never a disconnect between the Academy students and the agency themselves, there was always a warm atmosphere and welcome when we arrived. Our voices were heard and聽the ideas that we聽came up with felt聽we聽had a sense of importance and responsibility聽in a real-world agency setting.
How has this internship helped your career aspirations?
It helped me figure out what I want to pursue as my first role post-graduation, in the world of social media and content creation. I also know I would love to secure a role in an agency setting given its fast-paced reality.
Why did you choose to study your course?
I chose to study BA (Hons) Digital Marketing because it offered a fast-track, two-year route and, importantly, didn鈥檛 involve exams. I鈥檝e never excelled under exam conditions, so I felt this approach would allow me to thrive in a learning environment that suited me and felt more natural. Beyond that, I had a strong interest in marketing prior to applying, and I saw this course as the perfect opportunity to build my knowledge and develop valuable industry connections to help me get my foot in the door.
Do you have any advice for someone starting an internship?
It鈥檚 important to be proactive and show initiative because that鈥檚 what鈥檒l help you stand out once you鈥檝e settled in. Internships are also a great way to build relationships so take the time to talk to other people there, especially if they鈥檙e working in a role or field you鈥檙e interested in because they鈥檒l have insights that you won鈥檛 find anywhere else.
