Students showcased their diverse and unique collections last week at an open-air fashion show in the heart of 探花直播.
What is 1000 Threads?
BCU Presents: 1000 Threads fashion show is an annual celebration of final year Fashion and Textile students work, through an event that featires a catwalk using the student designs. 1000 Threads makes up part of Inspired Festival.
This years show was hosted by BBC presenter and journalist Kathryn Stanczyszyn, and took place in Oozells Square at Brindleyplace. The crowd was made up of key people from the region鈥檚 fashion, design and creative industries, as well as members of the public.
What happened at the event?
The catwalk was preceded by a VIP reception at the Ikon Gallery and followed by a private viewing of an exhibition of pieces from this year鈥檚 students. VIPs were then treated to an exclusive after-party, which included a live DJ set from Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt.
The聽show provided Fashion graduates and students from the School of Jewellery with the opportunity to showcase pieces from their collections in the high-quality fashion show production. The event also followed the announcement that 探花直播 had been recognised as a World Craft City by the World Craft Council.

How did it go?
Vice-Chancellor Professor David Mba said: 鈥淲e had a fantastic evening celebrating our extraordinary talent at BCU Presents: 1000 Threads, the centrepiece of our Inspired Festival. 探花直播 is an incredible city. Only last week, the city achieved World Craft City status, which firmly puts 探花直播 in the global spotlight as a beacon of creative excellence.

Head of the College of Jewellery, Fashion and Textiles Lee Lapthorne said: 鈥淚t was absolutely incredible to watch, as our students brought their designs to life on the catwalk in the middle of the city. We really do have some exciting up and upcoming talent in our College, and we鈥檙e delighted to have been able to give them a platform to showcase their work to the public and representatives from across the region鈥檚 creative industry.
